This took a while... :)
To build up my portfolio I took "Defying Gravity" from the musical Wicked and drew up a storyboard for it. I hope you all like it.

Because Deviantart doesn't let me upload non-flash movies and their copyright policy, I'm hosting the video on Youtube. (They have something worked out with the copyright holders where they can host this music.)

Seriously, if you fully animated this I would become your immortal slave. It's that beautiful. :heart:

Please, please, consider finishing this. It's wonderful how it is, but I would love to see it fully animated.

Mhm. Sorry. What I meant to say is that this is beautiful, the animation perfectly fits, the character designs are spot-on, and the dramatic timing is excellent. I would love to see a completed version if possible, because it truly is excellent.

Also, I really want Wicked to be adapted into an animated movie already. Disney, get on that!

This was absolutely FANTASTIC. I LOVE the take you took on the scene as opposed to the musical (because the music obviously doesn't have a ton of dialogue that's there in the show), and there were two specific bits that gave me the chills this song is supposed to give you (And I've been listening to this song for years, now): the first one was with Glinda and Elphaba at "Just you and I defying Gravity!" The idea of Glinda standing on that ledge is just PERFECT. The second bit was "So if you care to find me~" through "Tell them how I am defying gravity!" I think maybe she could've been a bit more fierce there, but other than that, it was fine. My only other problem I have with this is the "Losing love I guess I've lost part," but that's only because of how I interpret those lyrics. I see it as more of Elphaba losing the love of Oz and Oz's people, because it would cost her her integrity. So, in my mind, it feels like the meaning's a bit lost, but the storyboard involving Fiyero and the statue is still great! Loved watching every second of this!!!
